4, 6 and 8 hours and

10, 15 and 20 mile ranges

 The 10 mile radius includes the waters from Sandusky Bay Light to the Vermilion River entrance. Rarely in the spring and fall is there any need to travel beyond this range to find excellent fishing. Travel time to the furthest reaches of this radius is approximately 30 min. and many prime fishing spots are within 10 to 15 min. leaving plenty of time for fishing even with a 4 hour trip.                                         (click on Map to Enlarge)              

These fish were caught Nov 9th 2006 in less than 4 hours between 6:00 pm and 10:00 pm within 4 mile of the Huron Light. "Night fishing for walleye", it just don't get any better.

Mid and Late Summer when the water warms up the walleye like the deeper water and a 15 or 20 mile run may be necessary. Or maybe you  want to fish closer to the islands were there are plenty of places to grab a quick lunch and soak up a little Air Conditioning on those hot August afternoons. 

A 15 mile trip expands your fishing area to include the waters off Marble Head Light, the SE corner of Kelly's Is. , the SW edge of the Lorain Sand Bar and the waters N & E of Vermilion. All are Hot Spots when the conditions are right. Travel time to the furthest reaches of this radius is approximately 45 min. 
Walleye Jack recommends a minimum of 6 hours for 15 mile trips.

A 20 mile trip expands your fishing area to include the waters west and north of Kelly's Is. and east to Lorain and the Lorain Sand Bar. These are some of the most popular fishing area's for perch and walleye on the entire lake. Travel time to the furthest reaches of this radius is approximately 60 min.
